She began her career in Khongjom Parba at the tender age of 10. <br/>Her dedication to this narrative art form was proved at the age of 11 when she won two state level competitions of narrative arts. As she grew up and gained maturity under the protective care famous Khongjom Parba singers, Heisnam Mangoljao Singh and Kh. Ibeni Devi, Sundari Devi represented the State in various programmes and festivals of narrative arts held outside the State. <br/>She is also an approved artiste of AIR, Imphal, and DDK, Imphal. Smt. Sundari developed her own exemplary style of performance and is better known for her dynamism and precision of the tune. <br/>For her eminence in Khongjom Parba, Shrimati Khumanthem Sundari Devi is honoured with the Manipur State Kala Akademi Award.
